It has been 6 years since Makenzie had her Heart Transplant. It has defiantly been a roller coaster for sure through out the past 6 years. Just to mention a few. Multiple rejections, caths, 2 cardiac arrest, lots of hospital stays, Dr. visits, and a Pace Maker. On a happier note Makenzie is now 7 years old, is in 1st grade loves to read, rides a 2 wheeler, has such a big heart for everyone she meets, loves art, singing and dancing. If it wasn't for her donor family that had to make such a difficult decision at such a hard time in their lives I wouldn't be able to watch Makenzie learn and grow. She is such an inspiration to me, and is one amazing young girl who loves life and has such a sweet personality. There are no words to say to her Donor family, it shows that there are still good people out there if in time of grief will give a gift of life to someone in need even when they are in a dark place a that moment in time when they loose a child. I am so grateful for there decision. I don't no what life would be like with out Makenzie and if it wasn't for their decision, I may not have been able to continue to watch Makenzie learn and grow. So for that I am forever in there debt and am so thankful for there selfless decision.
Here is to many more years of laughter and love, Makenzie I love you and am very proud of all that you accomplish and will accomplish in life you are truly my Heart Hero.
Remember say yes to Organ Donation it could save a life or many lives, leave a legacy when you go.
BE A HERO BE A DONOR!!!
