Happy birthday to our beautiful girl, Kenzie. 20 would look so good on you.
I always wonder what you would look like now, or what you’d be doing these days. Today we dropped off the toys at the hospital — all donated in your name by people who love you as much as we do. Afterward, we went to Olive Garden, your favorite.
As you can see in the picture, there was one empty seat. The waiter also brought an extra cup of water and placed it in front of that seat, not knowing anything about why we were there. We know that seat was just for you — and that you were right there with us.
We also received the most beautiful gift from Brady Cragun and Blake Edwards — a 3D crystal that lights up with your picture. Seeing your face light up is something we’ll treasure forever. They saved your life six years ago, and we are so grateful they continue to be part of our lives. That connection means more than words can say.
We are incredibly thankful for all the texts, calls, flowers, and birthday gifts. I love knowing you are still remembered and so deeply loved.
We hope you’re celebrating big, my cute girl. Thank you for always being with us.
And of course… we ate brownies. 🩵😥💔
Today we also delivered the toys to Primary Children’s Hospital, and our hearts are so full. We filled 6 carts. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support that made it possible to honor and celebrate Kenzie’s 20th birthday by bringing smiles to children who are spending Christmas in the hospital.
Kenzie spent much of her life in and out of the hospital, and we spent her last Christmas there with her. Being able to continue this tradition in her honor means everything to our family. Seeing our truck filled with donations was overwhelming in the most beautiful way, and we hope and pray that the children who receive these gifts feel the magic of Christmas because of the love behind them.
These last six years have been made a little easier because of the love and kindness you continue to show us. Each year, we feel it so deeply, and we are forever grateful.
We love and miss Makenzie every day, and we hope she is celebrating her birthday with us. 🩵
