First Responders
It has been a rough road with Kenzie but she is doing amazing. She got out of the CICU and to the floor CSU. She is so much happier there. She is able to walk and talk. We are so grateful that the first responders never gave up on her and kept going until they got a pulse. They all came to see the miracle Makenzie really is. They have never seen anyone come out of CPR for 1 hour who can walk and talk. We love the first responders and will always be grateful for them.

Hospital stay
August 16th Makenzie was scheduled for clinic in the Morning. She woke up around 6:30 A.M telling me she was hungry and went downstairs to get something to eat and watch TV before we leave. Thinking nothing of it because she has done that before. My alarm went off so I got up and I heard the TV blasting loud (thankfully), so I yelled from upstairs for her to turn it down but she didn't respond so I thought she fell asleep, so I ran downstairs and found her barley breathing. I screamed for Tyler and he came running down and started CPR on her while I called 911.
It seemed like forever for them to come, when they showed up they couldn't get a pulse reading so they rushed her to the closest hospital which was Jordan Valley hospital.
Tyler and I followed behind while the other kids went to the neighbors. We got to the hospital and they were doing CPR on her, and kept getting pulses and then wouldn't and then got one and then didn't.
It was the longest and most scariest thing that I have witnessed watching your child lay there fighting for there life. After an hour, yes one hour of CPR the ER doctor said sometime we need to call it, we will give them 5 more minutes. After 5 the minutes the paramedics stepped back and they said she has a pulse.
They had to get her stable enough to get her on life flight to transport her to Primary Children's Hospital. Tyler was able to go with her, since I decided to start having contractions and they kept me at the hospital for observation. I was not a very happy momma, I was supposed to be with Makenzie.
They got Makenzie to the hospital she was put in the CICU. We had no idea what the future would hold for her

12 years heartaversery
12 years! We are very grateful that we were able to celebrate Makenzie's Heartaversery with her. Makenzie made Brownies and decorated it with hearts, and then we went and got 12 balloons so we could release them up to heaven for her donor. We do that every year to honor her donor.
We are so grateful that 12 yrs ago someone said Yes to Organ Donation, and gave us 12 extra years with Makenzie. We are praying that someone else will say Yes to Organ Donation so we can have another 12+ years with Kenzie with that same Angel Heart.
This heart journey is defiantly not the easiest but Makenzie has proven that she can overcome hard things that come into her life and not give up.

Heart Failure/Listed for 2nd transplant
Makenzie had a Cath done, and the results were not what we were hoping for. The results came back as her having CAD (Coronary Artery Disease) which is common for transplant, and the result of needing a New Heart Transplant. We are so thankful that her heart lasted 12 years, but definitely hoped it would have lasted longer.
She was Placed on the list as of May 2, 2019 as a status 1B. She will be able to stay out patient while on milrinone to help keep her heart functioning properly while she waits for an angel heart to come. We are hoping one will come real soon, but it's that mixed emotion of someone else losing a child, which I can not imagine having to go through that.
But we are so ever grateful that when the time comes that someone said yes to Organ Donation, and saved our girls life.
