Annual cath/biopsy

This time of the year is always so stressful. A Cath allow us to get information on how Kenzies heart is doing and sometimes its answer that you dread to hear. They also have to go through her groin area, so she has to lay flat for 6 hours which is torture to a child haha. This year we were first case so we had to be at the hospital at 6 A.M which is torture to mom ;). But first case is always better because we get to come home sooner, and Kenzie can eat earlier also. The cath takes about 2 hours (which feels like eternity). Kenzie hates going back by herself, so the cath nurses and Dr's are always so sweet and lets me go back with her until she falls asleep. Which I don't know if that makes it easier or harder on both of us, but Kenzie likes it so I do it for her (when they let me).
Her cath went great her pressures are higher then normal (they have been for awhile) but they aren't concerned. Her coronary Arteries are healthy (yeah). 6 hours went by and we got her biopsy results back and she is mild rejection. They just want to watch it, and hope it gets better in time. We are always thankful for good results.

9 years post transplant

Another year has passed and Kenzie is doing great. I'm sure we've had a few hospital visit between then and now but nothing to crazy I'm sure. Kenzie is in 4th grade thriving in home school, loving friends and family, all thanks to her Donor and his/her family. Life is so precious and Makenzie has been living it to her fullest capabilities. We are so grateful for the love and compassion that they had during a tragic time in their lives.
This year Kenzie made the cake and chose out the balloons. We then released them up to the heavens above us. It is always an emotional time, but are hearts are full of love and gratitude towards them for such an amazing gift to her and us.
